A persistent action button and bar that brought Copilot, primary actions and better personalization to Outlook mobile

utlook mobile had three competing entry points: a Floating Action Button with split-button affordance and minimal usage, a Copilot M365 Chat module with limited value, and a Draft Docking secondary FAB on the way. Together they took up screen real estate, fragmented the surface, and made Copilot harder, not easier, to find.
Frame the opportunity around Copilot growth. Explore layout, entry, and motion. Prototype to validate speed and clarity. Refine flexible patterns that hold under future actions and AI features. Align design, product, and AI partners along the way.
